Faculty Classes Enrollment
Madison Baptist Theological Seminary
Welcome to Madison Baptist Theological Seminary. We offer a completely unique college experience for those wishing to expand their knowledge of scripture or train for ministry.
Madison Baptist Theological Seminary has been training students in a classroom environment for over 25 years. With the recent disruptions caused by the pandemic, we are moving our classes to an online model.
As part of that, we are making all of our classes available free of charge for non-students.
What does that mean? It means you only pay for classes that you are taking for credit. If you would like to receive a degree or take classes for credit, there will be a nominal charge for each test you take, which will equal about $30 per classroom hour.
If you plan to enroll in Madison Baptist Theological Seminary for credit, we need a few things from you.
First, you must fill our an enrollment form so that we can get to know you and help you toward your goals. Even though our classes will be online rather than in person, we care about your education and can provide assistance and counseling as needed. It is important that we work together so that you get the best education possible, and so that we can stand behind the students that graduate from our Seminary.
Even though this is online, we intend to do everything within our means to ensure that the integrity of the learning experience is maintained to the highest degree possible. To earn a degree will require a lot of work but your work will be rewarded with a much deeper understanding of the Word of God and training that will help you in ministry.
Much of the work you do will be done on the honor system, and that is why we want to have a working relationship with you as you go through our classes. MBTS is a ministry of Madison Baptist Church and is therefore guided by the ministry and purposes of a local New Testament church: we believe that our top priorities are to preach the gospel, win the lost, and train others for that work.
As part of our enrollment, we require a written testimony of your salvation and a recommendation from your pastor. We will also conduct an in-person interview: that can be done by Skype, FaceTime, in person or on the telephone.
Once you are enrolled in MBTS, you can begin taking classes online immediately. For each class, please request the syllabus from our office, download or purchase the required books and complete all reading or writing assignments.
As we have already mentioned, we do not charge for sitting in on our online classes, but we do charge for tests. You can expect each class to cost about $75 for the cost of the tests. That does not include the cost of books or any other materials you might need. The cost of a four year degree should average around $5,000 with books and class expenses.
By only charging for tests, we are trying to keep our classes open to anyone with a desire for a greater knowledge of God's word, and only charge those who want to pursue a degree or credit for classes.
Our Seminary is NOT non-denominational. We are a KJV Bible believing Independent Baptist Church ministry. We teach what we believe.
Please contact us if we can be of further assistance.

PhilosophyMadison Baptist Theological Seminary is distinctively a Bible
seminary. Therefore, its core philosophy is, at the same time, both Biblical and Baptistic in nature. 1. The written, preserved word of God is the ultimate authority and the operating manual for every facet and function of this institution. This implies two basic principles for our college: A. Its overall program must be in conformity with the Word of God. This includes activities, teaching methods, financial policies, guidelines for student life, administrative procedures, etc. Basic Bible principles, briefly summarized in the doctrinal statement of Madison Baptist church, are the foundational concepts which shape the content and direction of our program. B. Its curriculum must be Bible-centered. Not only must it be rich in Bible content, but every subject must be taught from a Biblical perspective. 2. M.B.T.S. was brought into existence by Madison Baptist Church in August, 1995. Thus, its educational philosophy is in keeping with our traditional Baptist heritage and is independent and fundamental in emphasis and outlook. Consequently, M.B.T.S. is uniquely structured to prepare its graduates for effective service for Christ by planting and/or building independent, fundamental, soul-winning Baptist churches. |
